Oak Lake - Sifton Fire Department

History
The Oak Lake - Sifton Fire Department was started in 1920 under Chief Alex Jack. In 1945 the department purchased its first pumper, some hose, smoke masks, and a resuscitator.  We presently have a 1995 Superior pumper which carries 1000 gallons of water and is capable of delivering 1050 gallons per minute of water plus it has foam capabilities.  The department is also equipped with a 1200 gallon tanker which is on a 1978 Dodge chassis.  Recently we purchased a 1983 Rescue Van which carries emergency equipment such as a generator, jaws of life, breathing apparatus, saws, and other hand tools.

Many citizens of Oak Lake have volunteered their time and skills to maintain the fire department.  The fire department tries to maintain a volunteer base of a minimum 15 active members which are equipped with pagers to respond to calls.

There is always a need for more people to join the service.  If you are interested or would like more information please call 855-2423.

In case of emergency, call 911.
