Oak Lake Life Line The LIFELINE TELEPHONE provides confidential service to seniors and invalides so they can remain in their own homes as long as possible.
The LIFELINE consists of a carepartner telephone communicater that has large buttons, a high volume speaker and voice assist. A personal help button pendant that is lightweight and waterproof. It is worn around the neck at all times, in bed, in the shower etc. To call for help, subscriber simply press`s the personal help button. The personal help button activates a small in home communicater that automatically dials the lifeline response center. With in seconds the call will be answered by a trained lifeline monitor. This is not a electronic voice it is a person.
Lifeline communiactors contain a highly sensitive speaker phone that enables two way communication between monitor and subscriber even if they cannot get to the phone. If the subscriber press`s the personnal help button and can not speak , the monitor will quickly send the right help. The subscribers important information is instantly available to the monitor. They then quickly determine the type of help needed and dispatch it.
The Oak Lake Lifeline Board was made up of eight volunteers.The Board which began in February 1990 was dissolved on November 28,2006.
